Server Rules
Driftwood LifeRP Community Rules
Choose a category below to review the rules. All players are responsible for following both the letter and spirit of these guidelines.
Introduction
- Respect all players and staff.
- No cheating, exploiting, bug abuse, or unauthorized third-party software.
- Alternate accounts are prohibited.
- Staff may intervene in situations not explicitly covered by the rules.
- Players are expected to follow both the letter and spirit of the rules.
Roleplay Rules
FailRP (FRP)
- Engaging in unrealistic behavior that negatively impacts roleplay is prohibited.
Meta Gaming
- Using information your character would not reasonably know is prohibited.
- Using Discord, streams, DMs, or OOC information to influence roleplay is prohibited.
Power Gaming
- Forcing roleplay outcomes or denying reasonable responses is prohibited.
FearRP
- Players must value their life at all times.
- In a 2v1 armed situation, a player may only draw a weapon if it is already equipped or located in Slot 1 or Slot 2.
- In a 3+ vs 1 armed situation, the outnumbered player may not draw a weapon and must comply.
New Life Rule (NLR)
- Players must wait 15 minutes before returning to the area in a manner that would involve themselves in the previous situation.
- Players may not seek revenge for events leading up to their death.
Active PvP Situations
Law Enforcement:
- 2 minute return timer.
Criminals:
- 5 minute return timer.

Combat Logging
- Logging out to avoid roleplay consequences is prohibited.
PvP Rules
Random Deathmatch (RDM)
- Randomly killing or attacking another player without valid roleplay justification is prohibited.
Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)
- Using vehicles as weapons is prohibited.
Kill on Sight (KOS)
- Kill on Sight is prohibited.
Body Looting
- Looting deceased players is prohibited.
Participant Limits
- A maximum of 8 participants may actively participate on each side of a PvP Situation.
- Players may not join an active situation after it has begun.
- Third-party involvement is prohibited.
Combat Restrictions
- Weapons may not be stored, salvaged, scrapped, destroyed, or otherwise removed during an active PvP Situation.
- Players may not use inventory management to avoid roleplay consequences during an active situation.
- Players may not scrap weapons, hide weapons, or place weapons into their inventory during an active PvP Situation.
- Players may not swap weapons in a manner intended to gain an unrealistic advantage or avoid consequences.
Criminal Activity Rules
Robberies
General
- Robberies must be initiated through roleplay.
- Players may rob any item currently on another player's character.
- Players may not force access to houses, storage, lockers, containers, or vehicles.
Cooldowns
- Robbery cooldown: 30 minutes.
- All participants involved in a robbery receive the cooldown.
- Players may not repeatedly target the same player or group.
Communications
- Victims may call for help unless communications have been clearly disabled through roleplay.
Vehicle Robberies
- Players may not initiate a robbery while inside a vehicle.
- Players may not force another player from a vehicle solely to rob them.
- Vehicle extractions require successful immobilization and control of the vehicle.
Hostages
Requirements
- Hostages must be restrained or otherwise under the criminal's control.
- Hostages are expected to follow FearRP.
Demands
- Hostages may be exchanged for demands.
- Maximum $5,000 per hostage.
- Maximum $15,000 total.
Grace Periods
- Criminals may negotiate for a 1-minute grace period.
- Additional hostage negotiation options are outlined in the Police SOP.
Heists
General Requirements
- A minimum of 3 Law Enforcement Officers must be online before a PvP Situation may be initiated.
Jewelry Heists
- May be completed by a single criminal.
Bank Heists
- Standard participant limits apply.
Jail Raids
- Standard participant limits apply.
- Freed prisoners may join the active situation until death.
Cooldowns
- All heists have a 30-minute cooldown upon completion, failure, or conclusion.
Counter Situations
Requirements
- Counter situations require a minimum of 3 faction members per participating faction.
- All factions involved must agree before the situation begins.
- Counter situations may not be used for farming.
Limits
- Standard participant limits apply.
- Third-party involvement remains prohibited.
Law Enforcement Intervention
- Law Enforcement may intervene if a situation becomes chaotic, uncontrolled, or involves multiple competing groups.
Property Rules
Ownership Limits
- Players may own a maximum of 3 Houses and/or Apartments.
- Players may own a maximum of 1 Warehouse.
- Players exceeding ownership limits will receive a 24-hour warning before enforcement action is taken.
Faction Bases
- Faction Bases may only be owned and controlled by the designated Faction Owner.
Farming Limits
Houses & Apartments
- Maximum 4 Farm Plots.
- Maximum 4 Planters.
Warehouses
- Maximum 8 Farm Plots.
- Maximum 8 Planters.
Property Design Restrictions
- Properties may not be designed, modified, or furnished in a way that provides a PvP advantage.
- No exploit bases.
- No inaccessible storage.
FreeBuild Rules
General
- FreeBuild is only authorized on properties legally owned by the player.
- Beds may not be placed outside player-owned properties.
- FreeBuild items may not be used to create a PvP advantage.
Vehicle Modifications
- Lockers may be attached to vehicles when done in good taste and for roleplay purposes.
- Vehicle modifications must remain reasonably realistic.
- Law Enforcement may conduct traffic stops on vehicles deemed unsafe.
- Staff may require the removal of unrealistic or abusive modifications.
Vehicle Rules
PvP Restrictions
- FreeBuild items may not be used to create armor, cover, firing positions, or other PvP advantages on vehicles.
Faction Rules
Alliances
- Alliances are roleplay-driven.
- Alliances may not be used to bypass server rules, participant limits, or cooldowns.
Membership
- There is no faction size limit.
Law Enforcement Rules
General
- Law Enforcement is considered a player faction.
- Law Enforcement is held to a higher standard of conduct than other factions.
- Corruption is roleplay-driven.
- Corruption does not exempt officers from server rules, punishments, or consequences.
